Why does Barbie hair get sticky and tangled after taking out of the packaging?

When you first get a brand new Barbie doll the hair is so smooth and manageable. After a while out of the box, though, it’s impossible to comb through. It just get sticky.
Why is that?

Alot of times the Barbies hair can get matted and tangeled just by kids playing with them.
An easy way to work out the tangles try soaking Barbies head in fabric softener. Then after it soaks use a large tooth comb, or a fork and work the tangles out. This can also work with a hair conditioner.
Start from the bottom and work up. Be patient and things will work out.

Barbies hair is made of a synthetic material called Saran. Make sure that you do not use to hot of water when rinseing hair.
